Mara Oyelaran

Head coach, strength

Former 400 metre runner. Will notice your heart rate before you do.

Experience

Coaching since 2012

Background

BSc Sport Science, UKSCA accredited

Mara ran the 400 metres for her university and spent her twenties learning what overtraining feels like from the inside. She founded Thres in 2019 to coach the way she wishes she had been coached: by the number, with rest taken as seriously as work.

She leads Strength circuit and Thres intervals, writes the weekly programme and still does every re-test alongside the members.

Ask her about

  • Why your easy days are too hard.

  • Lifting for runners.

  • The 400 metres, if you have an hour.
