Every day has a zone

Train by heart,
not by guesswork.

Every day at Thres has a heart-rate zone and a class built for it. Open a day, see the session, and book your place.

About the studio

We coach the number on the wall, not the one on the scale.

Thres opened in a tannery warehouse in 2019 with twelve chest straps and one idea: train at the right effort and the rest follows. Six years on, the straps have multiplied. The idea has not changed.

Zone 4

Open a day above or pick a zone below, and this follows. The wall over the training floor does the same.

The five zones

One honest number.
Five ways to use it.

Your heart rate tells the truth about how hard you are working. We put it on the wall, read it with you, and coach you to the right zone for the day.

Six classes.
Every one has a zone.

Easy days stay easy and hard days earn the name. Pick by how you want to feel when you walk out.

Forty-five minutes,
five gears.

The clock walks round the room and the lights follow it. Whatever is on lights up, so you always know where you are and what comes next.

Coaches

Coached by people,
not playlists.

Four coaches, each with a zone they could talk about all day. One of them is on the floor in every class, watching the wall so you do not have to.

Questions

Asked often,
answered straight.

If yours is not here, write to us. A coach answers, usually the same day.

Find us

Unit 4, Tannery Wharf, Bristol BS1 6QH

Open

Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 21:00. Saturday, 08:00 to 14:00.

Do I need my own heart-rate monitor?

No. We lend you a chest strap for every class and it pairs with the screens in the room. If you already own a strap or a watch that broadcasts heart rate, bring it.

I'm not fit yet. Will I keep up?

Zones are personal. Your Zone 4 and your neighbour's Zone 4 feel the same and look completely different, which is the point. Nobody is behind.

How many classes a week should I do?

Most members settle on three: one easy, one steady, one hard. Your coach will help you choose the days in your first week.

What happens in my first class?

Arrive fifteen minutes early. We fit your strap, find your maximum heart rate with a short ramp test and walk you round the room. The class itself is on us.

Can I pause or cancel my membership?

Yes. Pause for up to two months a year, or cancel with thirty days' notice, both from your account. No forms and no phone calls.

Where are you, and is there parking?

Unit 4, Tannery Wharf, five minutes on foot from the station. There are bike racks at the door and a public car park across the bridge.
